Make sure your bike is fully serviced before travelling. Riding in the mountains is hard on the rider and on the bike. If there is a weakness, the mountains will find it.

The tour is accompanied by a fully qualified bike mechanic. The mechanic carries some basic spares such as tyres, tubes, brake pads cables, chains, etc.

Take your saddle bag with basic tools for any minor repairs on the road.

Fit new tires and brakes.

Wheels with a carbon braking surface are not recommended for riding in the mountains.

Do not leave anything in bike boxes that you will need during the week. When bike boxes go in the van, I would like them to stay there.

You will see me many times per day but you need to have an attitude of self-reliance just in case. Put a small bag in the front of the van with anything you may need during the day, food, change of shirt or socks, sun cream, etc. Searching through a suitcase in a storm at 2000m is not fun.

Take a small rain jacket with you each day. This is essential; you will need it for descending. If you get caught in a thunderstorm without it, you will be in big trouble.

Mountains make their own weather and anything can happen. You need to pack a range of cycling clothing for all weathers. You may experience all weathers on the same day. I have seen temperatures go from 38c and sunny to 4c and snow in about 5 minutes. That was in July.

I will provide everyone with a Michelin map with the route marked. There will be 3 maps to cover the entire route.

Allow approx. €20 for lunch each day. I will give you recommendations each day.

Price €1890 per person for 2 sharing a twin room or €2190 for a single room.
